St Barts Villas :: Maco Lodge

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

You, my lucky readers, will be the first to preview my very first video posted on YouTube, about St Barts Villas.

Villa Maco Lodge is a rental property available through St Barth Properties and is described as "stunning."  And really, it is.  Just take a look at this photo of the living room area.

St Barts Villas :: Villa Maco Lodge

Villa Maco 1.pngLocated on Pointe Milou, this villa touts 6 bedrooms  and 6 1/2 bathrooms. It offers unmatched panoramic views of St Marteen, the sea, and the sun as it sets behind the hills of St Barts.

There are two buildings located on this property, one of which is the main house, and the other is spoken of as the "pool area." Both buildings offer luxurious accomodations and sleeping quarters, the second building actually has "kid's quarters" that are sectioned off with Chinese sliding doors and bunk beds that sleep four.

For those that want to relax, Villa Maco also offers a spa area with a massage table, set up next to a private jacuzzi.  Ligne St Barth products are lined up on deck if you choose to use them.

Did I mention that this property has two swimming pools? Very family friendly, a continental breakfast is served daily.  This truly is the picture of understated luxury .

Rental prices for the villa start at just $5,570/week starting in 2008.  If you're coming to St Barts, this villa is worth a look.

St Barts Villas :: Indian Song

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Indian Song 2.pngThis is one of my favorite St Barts Villas on the entire island! The Indian Song is an impressive villa that boasts a foundation of several levels, made of stone and wood. Located at the entrance of the Domaine du Levant complex in Petit Cul de Sac, the surrounding neighborhood is gated, quiet and calm; a perfect retreat for anyone that is looking for a serene vacation.  Those who rent the villa are entitled to use the community tennis courts as well.

The interior is a beautiful blend of pastel and dark colored fabrics, carrying the theme of serenity right on through. Combine with the effects of the wood, tile and stone, the interior plays wonderfully with the light that comes through the large windows. Watch Direct TV & French Satellite in the mediaindian song gym.png room or sneak into the office for some quiet reading time. Personally, my favorite part of this villa happens to be the gym.  Admittedly, I am not always first in line to work out, but once I get going I'm fine.  They gym in this villa makes it easy to want to be first up; surrounded by lush vegitation and views of the water, it makes it hard to feel like you're actually engaging in strenuous activity.

The Indian Song Villa is available to rent from two different agents on the island.  Wimco has their rates set up based on weeks of the year while St Barth Properties has their rates listed by number of bedrooms.  Either way, the rates are about the same; if you like what you see, inquire now as this villa tends to book quickly!

St Barts Villas :: Top 3 Best Honeymooners' Nests

Monday, November 5th, 2007

St Barts villas can truly seem like a dream come true; especially for those honeymooners' that just want tranquility and little hassle on their once-in-a-lifetime trip.  But let's face it, there's a lot of villas to choose from when you vacation on St Barts Island - how can you be sure you're choosing the right one?  Why, you stop here of course! Who better to get a gist from than a villa owner himself? And no, I promise I won't be TOO biased when it comes to my recommendations!!

Villa #1 :: This cute little villa is nestled in Gustavia Hill on the part called "Le Pointe" and, since it sits onVilla SIB GUS.png the ocean side, it offers a terrific view of the Caribbean and the surrounding island.  Although secluded and quiet, it is located right in town and is all the quaint shops and eateries are easily accessible.  As a honeymooner, if you want to keep your new spouse all to yourself, you can go shopping together and then cook in the fully equipped kitchen, although I would suggest taking in all the local cuisine you can while staying with us.  Cozy up on the patio hammock and enjoy a glass of champagne and a little stargazing after sunset.  If you're a pet lover, you'll enjoy the permanent house guest, "Ti Gris," a little cat that has been there since the day construction began.  An affectionate feline, he sleeps lazily during the day and enjoys being loved.

Villa #2 :: With one bedroom and one-and-a-half baths, this is the perfect little retreat for "just the two of us."  Nicely decorated with a view of the water it also boasts a gourmet kitchen if you and yours like to channel a little Wolfgang Puck now and again.  Enjoy your meal out on the covered terrace before you take an evening dip in the pool.

Villa #3 :: Super cute and brand new, this villa happens to be right across the street from yours truly.  I Villa SIB BBE.pngpromised that I wouldn't let my bias show too much, but I must admit, I'm quite fond of my new neighbors!

This villa offers a tremendous view of the transparent water below (as you can see by the photo) and the coral reef, compliment of the floor to ceiling windows.  The bedroom and the living room are in the same room with a partial seperation between them.  This charming one bedroom can be rented with neighboring "MBA" for an additional bedroom, if necessary.  But, after all, if it's just the two of you, who needs an extra bedroom?

Bonus Villa :: This unique one bedroom villa boasts a Japanese inspired style and is decorated as such, throughout.  Enjoy views of Marigot Bay, or just admire the koi pond.  Leisurely stroll through the well landscaped gardens while the slight breeze brushes your skin.  If you are looking for truly original accomodations while staying on St Barts, this is the villa to do it in.

There are dozens of villas in which to spend your time while on our beautiful island; these are just a sampling of what's available, but they also happen to be some that I think are the best choices.
